Hunchback hunters invade Kokori, kill one, exhume remains of another

KOKORI – PERSONS leaving with kyphosis popularly known as “hunch back” in Kokori and environs of Delta State are currently leaving in fear as suspected ritualists have invaded the community, cutting the hunches of individuals with the deformity.

One of such victims is Mr. Odiriverere popularly known as Atinipa whose lifeless body was found on Tuesday morning with his hunch ripped off by his assailants.

The attack on Atinipa is one of many as the remains of another victim simply identified as Queen who died and was buried at Erhomeghu community, Kokori, was exhumed with her hunch cut off by the suspected rituals.
Giving details on the death of Atinipa, one of his neighbours at his Uwedi Street residence at Kokori told Vanguard that the incident has thrown the community into a state of shock.

According to the source who spoke on condition of anonymity, “We found his mutilated body on Tuesday morning with his back ripped open in an open hole.

“We immediately alerted the community vigilante who assisted in alerting the police who conveyed his remains to the Erhioke Cottage hospital mortuary.”

Confirming the incident, a senior police officer at the Isiokolo Police Division while condemning the act, stated that investigation into the incident is ongoing adding that the division would do everything within its power to bring the perpetrators to book.
