Attempts by some land-grabbers to foment trouble at Orudu, Oke Olokun village in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State, has been foiled by policemen from the Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, following the arrest of three of them.
The suspects, who were armed with dangerous weapons, reportedly stormed the community to forcefully eject a factional group from some property, weekend, but for the timely arrival of the police operatives.
Dangerous weapons, including charms, were recovered from the suspects.
The zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest, said: “At the scene, policemen arrested one Ibrahim Oduola, who hung a bag around his neck.
“The bag was discovered to contain two battle axes, two sharp knives, assorted charms and other items. The suspect confessed that he went with other members of his gang to Oke Olokun village to repel attacks from the rival group.
“Oduola’s arrest led to the arrest of two other suspects, AbdulAfeez Oduola, and Joseph Akintunde.”
