Police averts bloodbath in Kano as hoodlums attack Shi’a group

KANO – The police in Kano Wednesday averted bloodbath following attack on members of Islamic movement of Nigeria popularly known as Shi’a by hoodlums as no fewer than 17 were injured.

The incident that occurred sporadically at various spots at the central areas of the city saw defenceless members of Shi’a group scampered for safety in the face of machete welding hoodlums.

Eyewitness told Vanguard that at about 1.10pm hundred of members of the Shi’a group were seen heading to Bayero mosque at Fagg, when mob attack the procession at Koki by Kofar Mazugal general areas.
Another violent clash was recorded at Fagge mosque as residence protested closure of market and several routes in the area and chased them off.
