Okowa urged to relocate to Warri office over Ogbe-Ijoh/Aladja crisis

THE Concerned Members for Peace in Ogbe-ljoh, Warri kingdom has appealed to Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to as a matter of urgency, relocate to the Government House annex, Warri for seven working days to enable him tackle what they regarded as a looming inter-tribal war between Ogbe-Ijoh and their Aladja neighbours in Udu Local Government Area of the state.

Making the call yesterday at Ogbe-Ijoh, coordinator of the group, Friday Denighan, said it had become imperative for the governor to personally intervene in the matter as the panel of inquiry he set up to address the issue has been lagging in the discharge of its responsibilities.

He said: “In the dark days of the Warri crisis, the then governor, Chief James Ibori relocated to the Governor’s Office Annex, Warri from where he monitored all the peace processes till peace was restored in the area.”
