KADUNA—No fewer than 20 armed men, suspected to be herdsmen, Sunday night, invaded Galwyi community, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two persons and injuring two others.

They also carted away about 100 cattle, a community source told Vanguard, yesterday.
The state police spokesman, Aliyu Usman, who confirmed the incident, said only one person was injured.

Galwyi, about 10 kilometres South-West of Kaduna, is part of a cluster of villages populated by indigenous Gyabgyi of Kaduna, who are predominantly farmers and small scale animal husbandry.

According to the source, the gunmen stormed the village from three directions.

“They left with no less than 100 cows. Policemen from Gwagwada outpost arrived and chased the invaders into the night, but had to retreat later.”
