NGO offers scholarships to children of deceased police Sgt

Ughelli—The Peter’s Mission for the Less Privileged at the Area Command Police Station Ughelli, Delta State, offered cash gift to Sgt Rosemary Usifoh, widow of Sgt David Usifoh, who died in active service in 2014.

The philanthropic mission also awarded scholarships to the four children of late Sgt. David Usifoh.

The founder of the mission, Mr. Peter Onoriobe said that the essence of the programme was to alleviate the suffering and stress faced by families of late police officers, who have given their all to the service of their fatherland.

He assured the command of the mission’s continuous support and also promised to extend the programme to other police divisions in Delta State and beyond.
Onoriobe reiterated his call on the government to design a programme that will cater for wives of police officers, who were bereaved, especially those who died on duty.

In his response, the Ughelli Police Area Commander, Mr Usman Ndanbabo commended Mr Onoriobe for the laudable programme and called on other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the Peter’s mission in complementing government’s effort to improve police officers’ welfare.
