Dutse – Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa has enjoined Muslims in the country to pray for economic recovery of the nation.
Badaru gave the charge in his message to mark the 2016 Eid-el Kabir celebration in Dutse on Monday.
He urged Muslims not to take the Eid-el kabir festival just for fun and merry making, but to pray for the country to come out from the present economic woes.
The governor said that as Muslims they should be tolerant, forgive and live peacefully with one another irrespective of any differences.
Badaru pledges to carry the people of the state along in the affairs of his administration as he would be fair and just to all.
He said his government would continue to provide dividends of democracy to the people.
Badaru promised to ensure that retired civil servants received their entitlements as when due.
The governor also appealed to the people to go back to farming to address food security and reduce the present economic hardships.
