Investigate Orbih’s tellers, Obaseki urges police

By Simon Ebegbulem

The campaign organization of Godwin Obaseki has described as misleading and “tissues of lies,” the claim by the state chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, that Godwin Obaseki has been collecting salaries from the Edo state government as chairman of the state Economic Team.

The Campaign organization also reacted to the comment credited to Pastor Ize-Iyamu, who alleged that Governor Oshiomhole collected billions of Naira from former President Goodluck Jonathan during the 2011 presidential elections and challenged Ize-Iyamu to display his facts to the public.

Director General, Media and Publicity of the Obaseki campaign organization, Abass Braimah, said: “We believe that Ize-Iyamu and Orbih are jealous of the credentials of Obaseki and because all they do in the party is business they can’t believe that somebody can make sacrifices for his people.

“Orbih and his factional candidate are fond of fabricating lies, particularly when it comes to displaying fake tellers. When has Orbih become a staff of the Accounts department of the state government to be able to be in possession of tellers which are supposed to be an official document. We are inviting the police to investigate the matter because the PDP are known for forgery and misleading the public. Obaseki has not earned a kobo as salary from the state government and he should be commended,” he stated.

On the allegation that Oshiomhole collected money from Jonathan and Igbinedion for his election, he asserted that “it was sad and regrettable that somebody of Ize-Iyamu’s calibre could forget so soon that Lucky Igbinedion opted for plea bargain, when found guilty by the Court and opted to refund the money looted to the state coffers.”
