‘Opudu, Omare, Aribogha not involved in Aladja, Ogbe-Ijoh communal war’

By Etop Ekanem

THE Ijaw People Congress, IPC, has dissociated Chief Boro Opudu, Chairman, Delta Waterway and Land Security Committee; Frank Omare, Director-General, Special Programme, Delta State and Chief Johnny Aribogha from the ongoing communal war between Aladja (an Urhobo town in Udu Local Government Area) and Ogbe-Ijoh (an Ijaw town in Warri South-West), saying they are not the sponsors of the communal war.

The congress in a statement by its National President, Mr Ekanpou Enewaridideke, said: “This is to let the world know that Chief Boro Opudu, Frank Omare and Chief Johnny Aribogha have no link with the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, and are not the sponsors of the communal war. The issues that caused the war between the two communities are well known.

We also want to place on record that the Urhobo and the Ijaw are not at war, only their two communities are. The war should be limited to the two communities, not the entire Ijaw and Urhobo nations. The satanic ethnic champions should not magnify the communal war between the two communities, disparage Opudu, Johnny and Omare and instigate Ayakoromo, Ogulagha and Ogbe-Ijoh communities against the Federal Government.
