Affirming that silence in the face of injustice is a crime, a key aide of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Mrs. Evelyn Igbafe yesterday joined the train of condemnation against the outcome of the APC governorship primaries describing the winner, Godwin Obaseki as a disaster waiting to happen.

Igbafe, who is also the Executive Director on Poverty Alleviation while calling for the immediate cancellation of the primaries in the interest of justice and fair-play described Obaseki as an “unripe mango and tomato” who was unsellable.

While tasking APC leaders and members to take a cue from the PDP crisis free primaries which produced Pastor Ize -Iyamu as the party’s candidate, she added that the APC governorship candidate was a disaster waiting to consume the party in the 10, September governorship election.

She said, “If the party continues with the choice of Obaseki as its flag bearer, I pity the APC at the governorship polls because the defeat will be a land-slide victory for the PDP because I know that APC will fail with Obaseki. The reason we are not accepting Obaseki is because APC manipulated the primary.

“I am so happy with the PDP because they brought out a sellable candidate in the person of Pastor Osagie- Ize-Iyamu. APC is moving from house to house begging aspirants, and that will not lead them anywhere.’

“APC have disappointed Edo people. I have never seen a situation where primary will be conducted at night after delegates were accredited during the day and election at night.

“Let us not waste time with Obaseki because he cannot go anywhere. A great injustice was inflicted on Engr. Chris Ogiwmwonyi and Ken Imansuangbon and they are going to fight to the last atom of their blood to redress this injustice.

Mrs. Igbafe insisted that Edo people were not happy with the conduct of the primary noting that “in any environment where injustice thrives, silence is a crime.”

She, however, pledged to remain in the party noting that the reconciliation move by Obaseki and his campaign team moving from house to house begging some of the aggrieved APC aspirants to work for the party is an exercise in futility.
