THE Nigeria Profes-sional League mid-term window opened Sunday after the conclusion of the first stanza of the season and clubs are not taking chances in their bid to win the league diadem,
The oil mogul chose to present the cheque during the interval of the NPFL match between the club and Niger Tornadoes of Minna at the Ifeanyi Ubah sports stadium.
The club owner who doubles as Chairman of Anambra State Football Association said the money would provide management enough arsenal to enter the market and secure players of their choice.
“This is my own way of supporting the efforts of management as they prepare for the second half of the season. The target is the league title. If they fail, Anambra people will ask them why. They have to go for the best legs money can buy.”
As he said this the crowd roared in approval. The team also reacted by beating the visitors 2-0 in a pulsating encounter.
Meanwhile, the club proprietor also made a donation of N150m to the Anambra State FA toward the development of football in the state. The donation which was done in the name of the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation was to assist the FA in its One Family One Footballer initiative. “The money should be spread among all the local government areas,” he said.
