ABUJA—President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock over the death of Walin Sokoto, Ambassador Hamzat Ahmad, who passed away.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, yesterday, said President Buhari commiserated with the Sultanate, the government and people of Sokoto State, describing the Walin’s death as a great loss to Sokoto State, the diplomatic and business communities and to the Nigerian public service.

President Buhari prayed that the Almighty God would grant the soul of the late Walin Sokoto a peaceful rest.
