WARRI—UGBORODO people in Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State, have implored government and oil firms in the area to support their newly constituted Interim Management Commitment, IMC, in steering the community from years of setback caused by leadership strife.
At a gathering convened by the Ugborodo traditional authority in Aruton, communal heads, elders, women and youths of the community stressed that IMC became imperative in light of challenges posed by the leadership vacuum in the community.
The Olajori (Spiritual Head) of Ugborodo, Benson Omadeli, said that the EPZ Interface Committee appointed by Federal Government to broker peace over the internal crisis relating to the Gas City Project in the area cannot lead the administration of the community.
“The entire Ugborodo people constituted IMC to run affairs of Ugborodo to avoid any vacuum pending formal appointment, approval for a new Community Trust by the General Assembly,” the community said.
