The Chief Executive Officer and Special Adviser to the Governor on Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, Ayotunde Sodeinde, disclosed this during an inspection tour of on-going road projects in Surulere LGA weekend.

Sodeinde, while inspecting the completed work on Kernel Street, which Fashola has his residence, stated that Ambode through his magnanimity approved the rehabilitation of the road projects.
Already, asphalt work had been completed on Kernel Street, while grading of adjoining Animashaun Street is on- going.

Other roads due for rehabilitation according to Sodeinde, include: Itolo Road, Johnson Street, Imam-Dauda, Suenu, Olumegbon, Onitolo, Olorogun, Iluseyi, Aiyegbami and Jeminatu Buraimoh close in Surulere Local Government.

The Special Adviser also inspected on-going drainage construction and road rehabilitation projects at Queens Drive, Ikoyi. He said in the next two weeks the projects would be completed.

“Within the last eight months, LSPWC has completed road projects at ACME/Metal box road, Ogba, Alfa-Nla in Agege, Ikotun-Ejigbo road projects, Epe-Ijebu-Ode road, Oba Sekunmade in Ikorodu, CIPM Road in Ikeja and  Jan. 27  road in Oke-Afa Oshodi/Isolo to mention a few,” he said.

Residents’ appeal for portable water
Meantime, residents on Kernel Street and adjoining streets in Surulere LGA, have appealed to the governor to come to their aid as they lack supply of portable water in the area for over a year.

According to one of the residents, Mrs. Janet Adeosun, “We have no pipe-borne water in our houses for over a year. We patronize Hausa water hawkers, “Meruwa” for our daily need of water since our source of water supply was damaged.”

“We have written several complaint letters to Lagos State Water Corporation and uptill this moment there was no positive response. We are therefore, appealing to our amiable Governor Ambode to magnanimously intervene in our water crisis as he had done on the road. We believe he has a listening ears and he will do it at least for the sake of our innocent children.”
