LOKOJA—Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has called on warring communities in Ibaji Local Government Area of the state who are fighting with other neighbouring communities of Anambra State to choose the path of peace until the dispute is settled by the Federal Government.
Bello stated this yesterday in Lokoja when Ibaji Community Development Association paid him a visit over the appointment of their son, Chief Simon Achuba as Deputy governor of the state.
The governor who commended them for the visit said with the steps taken so far by the Federal Government, a solution to the boundary disputes is almost reached.
On the disputed oil well in Ibaji, the governor explained that effort will be made to ensure that the matter is amicably resolved.
Bello also said he has already set up a committee to go around the various local government areas of the state to look at what is lacking in some places which requires government interventions in order for him to prioritise his programme.
Earlier, President of the association, Chief John Iyaje Ojih who commended the governor for appointing their son as deputy governor, said the appointment is first of its kind.
