Lagos—In its bid to find lasting solution to the recurring issue on land matters in Lagos, the state house of assembly yesterday set up a committee to come up with a bill that would address some of the bottlenecks on land issues.
This was sequel to a report presented by an adhoc chaired by Saka Fafunmi on some difficulties encountered on land.
Setting up the committee, Speaker, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa during plenary told the members of the committee to report back to the house and come up with a bill on land matters within a month.
According to him, the committee would be chaired by the Majority Leader of the House, Sanai Agunbiade, with members including Rasheed Makinde, Saka Solaja, Tobun Abiodun and Jimi Mohammed.
Other members of the committee are Lanre Ogunyemi, Rotimi Olowo, Tunde Buraimoh, and the Deputy Majority Leader, Olumuyiwa Jimoh.
Obasa stated that the New Towns Development Authority, NTDA, and Lands Bureau ought to be cautioned with the way their officials handle land matters in the state.
