ABAKALIKI—THE lawmaker representing Ohaukwu North constituency at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mr. Frank Nwaka Onwe, has alleged that some Agila people in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State believed to be ex-servicemen were responsible for the gruesome murder of members of Ukwagba community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

The communal war between the communities over the boundary disputes started about 1920 and is presumed to be the oldest communal war in the country.

Making a presentation during plenary, the lawmaker further alleged that the perpetrators of the dastardly act used AK47 rifles, SMG and at times, hand grenades on the defenseless and unsuspecting Ukwagba people each time they went to their farmlands.

“About three weeks ago, two of my constituents Stephen Eze and Augustine Onwe Nwede were ambushed in the farm; brutally and barbarically murdered, their heads were chopped off and their bodies mutilated. The pellets found on the  spot of the incident showed that the bullets were fired from a highly sophisticated rifle as confirmed by the police.

“I am calling on the states and Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency, direct National Boundary Commission, NBC to immediately move in and demarcate the boundary in order to stop further killing and maiming of my people,” he said.
