IN its bid to stimulate the growth of knowledge in area of nutrition and healthy living, Dufil Prima Food Plc maker of Indomine noodles has sponsored 12 students from the six geo-political zones in the country to obtain their Masters Degrees in nutrition. The grant which draws beneficiaries from five universities is to encourage and help to build up high level manpower in nutrition that will continue to guide nutrition policy in the country.
Presenting the cheque to the beneficiaries, Public Relations Officer, Dufil Prima Food Plc., Mr. Tope Ashiwaju said their passion to contribute to the field of knowledge particularly in area of nutrition energised their commitment to the project since 2010 .
“Our commitment is to join force in building a society that is well nourished, healthy and prosperous. The company hereby presents the cheque of N450,000 each to all beneficiaries to help them in area of tuition, research, study materials among others for their post graduate programme.”
“We have three beneficiaries from Ahmadu Bello University; three from University of Ibadan, four from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, one from Imo State University and one from University of Calabar.”
On his part, the past President of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, and Panel Chairman Dufil Nutrition award, Professor, Babatunde Oguntona, appreciated the organiser for such initiative and charged all the beneficiaries to be a good ambassador.
“Out of over 100 applications that we received, these 12 beneficiaries should consider themselves lucky. The 2016 applicant will soon be out and will be made open to all eligible students in Nigeria higher institution where they are offering food and nutrition programme,” he said.
