ENUGU—The Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara at the weekend, commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for what he described as his people-oriented leadership style, urging political leaders in the country to emulate him.
Dogara who was in Enugu alongside other members of the House of Representatives for a thanksgiving service called by Chukwuemeka Ujam, member representing Nkanu East and West at the Federal House of Representatives, pointed out that Governor Ugwuanyi’s achievements within this short period of his administration have been re-echoing at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
He had similarly commended the governor last November during a grand reception organised in his honour by the people of Enugu-North Senatorial District during which he stated that the governor would provide quality service and leadership that will put smiles on the faces of the people of the state.
Hon. Dogara told the crowd that gathered at Akpasha Community Secondary School, Akegbe-Ugwu in Awkunanaw, Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state that Governor Ugwuanyi’s leadership style has resulted in the present delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state, adding that it did not come as a surprise to the national assembly members.
He therefore, enjoined other leaders in the country to emulate his style of governance so that Nigerians would feel the benefit of democracy.
Governor Ugwuanyi while appreciating the speaker for gracing the event used the opportunity to appeal to him and other members of the National Assembly at the occasion to remember Enugu State in the process of passing the 2016 budget.
