Ekiti-Eleven (E- 11), a socio-political non-aligned group in Ekiti State, yesterday asked all indigenes of the state to join forces with it to end misrule in the state.
The chairman of the group, Mr. Femi Ajiniran in a statement, added that the group would fight those who trample on people’s rights in Ekiti State, adding that it would not accept or entertain any form of anti-democratic tendencies in the state.
He added that the group “has been called all sorts of names. We, however, remain unperturbed and as constant as the northern star. Our good intentions always triumph at the end and we emerge stronger.
The chairman noted that E-11 “will never for once support bad against good. We will rather travel alone than to journey with the evil men of the society. Despite the challenges, we are always giving our best to the society.”
Ajiniran said E-11 would continue “to play the role of a social crusader and fight those who trample on people’s rights. We are against misrule, we are against abuse of power and we are against any form of anti-democratic tendencies.”
But in a statement, he said it had to celebrate the appointments of the state’s former governors, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Chief Segun Oni and a lawmaker in the 7th Senate, Senator Babafemi Ojudu.
“We acknowledge that things have not been alright with our people, but they should be assured that we have not abandoned them. We are with them in the liberation struggle. We will not be swayed in our usual resolve to ensure that Ekiti attains its prime position in the comity of states in Nigeria and beyond,’’ he said.
