The lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency in the lower legislative chamber, Hon. Tajudeen Obasa recently engaged hundred of youths in his constituency to participate in the inaugural Youth Empowerment Scheme tagged ” Empower the independent to build the dependent in the society”
Speaking at the epoch event, the lawmaker urged the youths to see the program as a means of breaking the barrier of under-prosperity and set a goal with the achievements and trades learnt at the training in building their future.
Obasa, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urged them not to sell the training kits given to them for paltry sum that won’t last for weeks to spend for survival in life.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Commissioner of Agriculture in Lagos State, Mr Ogunyale Kayode urged politicians to work in harmony irrespective of their political differences.
Also sharing his view, the Chairman of Ojo PDP, Alhaji Adio Salami attributed unity to development. “I’m an Aworian, We are one indivisible family in Ojo Federal Constituency with different political parties”
In the same vein, the facilitator, Dr A.A Yusuf, a lecturer from the University of Ilorin urged the beneficiaries to learn further in order to sustain modern techniques and cheered them to ensure records are kept for proper planning.
Furthermore, a beneficiary of the scheme, Mr Yinka Yahaya lauded the respected lawmaker and urged him to do more next year.
The program was well attended by dignitaries including Mr A.A Yakubu, Director Protection and Investigation and Mrs Haastrup, Assistant Director Legal and Enforcement from the National Human Rights Commission(NHRC); Hon. Fidelia Ihejia representing Igbo community, Alhaji Labaran representing Arewa community and Mrs Florence Sedemu representing South-South.
