#Presidentialmediachat: We may ban hijab because of Boko Haram — Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his government may ban the use of hijab by muslim women as a result of the use of female suicide bombers by Boko Haram insurgents.

He made this declaration during the presidential media chat.

“Hijab would have to be banned if suicide bombing continues,” noted  Buhari

Hijab is a veil that covers the head and chest, which is particularly worn by some Muslim woman beyond the age of puberty in the presence of adult males outside of their immediate family and, according to some interpretations, in the presence of adult non-Muslim females outside of their immediate family.
