A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Zainab Yusuf Ogunlana has charged the Governor-Elect of the State, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello to hit the ground running, saying the state is in dire need of total redemption.
In a chat with Vanguard in Lokoja, Friday, Ogunlana said though she was not satisfied with the performance of both INEC and security agencies during the election, the election was largely free and fair.
She called on Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to accept the verdict of the party and move on in the interest of the state.
She said the decision of the party was substantially in tune with the constitution and the Electoral Act.
“My advice to Faleke is that he should accept the party’s decision.
I know Faleke to be a complete gentle man right from his days as the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government in Lagos state. He should show the world that his personal interest is below the common interest of the people of Kogi State”.
She called on the incoming administration to concentrate on revamping infrastructures as well as empowering the people of the state. Ogunlana urged the Governor-Elect to surround himself with people who can help deliver good governance to the people.
“After months of politicking, Kogites are expecting good governance and we can’t afford to let our people down.
I urge the Governor-Elect to give a good account of himself as his competence and political will to transform Kogi has never been in doubt. Let me also enjoin the people of the state to work with the incoming administration to make it a huge success”.
