BENIN CITY—THE newly elected National President of the Nigerian Environmental Society, NES, Prof.Ikechukwu Ezemonye has stressed the need for the National Assembly to pass the National Institute of Environmental Practitioners, NIEP, bill, saying the passage of the bill will help secure not only oil producing communities, but the general environment.

While expressing his appreciation to his colleagues for electing him as President, Prof. Ezemonye noted that the task of protecting the environment must be pursued aggressively, asserting that his administration had concluded plans to liaise with the legislators with a view to ensure the passage of the NIEP bill which is before the National Assembly.
