Sustain the change mantra, Middle Belt group charges Kogites

…Says Kogi alone can’t remain in opposition

By Chris Ochayi

The Convener of Middle Belt Progressive Assembly, MBPA, Arch. David Dung yesterday, urged electorate in Kogi State to sustain the wind of change blowing across the zone by voting massively for the candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, for the November 21, 2015 governorship election, Prince Abubakar Audu.

Dung, who made the call while addressing journalists in Abuja on the preparedness of   the group to participate actively in the electioneering process, said Kogi people, particularly, the youths must take decisive action to avoid the state slipping to opposition.

He affirmed that it would amount to political blunder for Kogi State to remain the only state in the Middle Belt zone being administered by an opposition governor.

Noting that five states in the zone are already under the control of the ruling APC, he thus called on the Kogi people to join hands with the party to ensure Audu is returned in order to halt the political and economic drift in the state.

He was optimistic that an Audu administration will restore the hope of the people in true democracy and good governance, as he regretted that the over 13 years of cross mismanagement of the PDP has brought the state to a crossroads.

The Convener pleaded with the people to vote out incumbent Governor Idris Wada’s led PDP administration, noting that the state more than ever before requires a tested and trusted hand to turn around its life to enable it to function and compete effectively with other states in the country.

Praising the ex-Governor for his foresight and dexterity to remain in opposition in the last 16 years, Dung said Audu is a tested and trusted politician whose performance and achievements were yet to be equalled by either his successors or any governor within the Middle Belt region since inception of democracy in 1999.

“The facts are on the ground for anybody to see. But sadly, all these infrastructures that his administration put in place between 1999 to 2003 have been totally devastated.”

“I am calling on the electorate and lovers of Kogi State to sustain the wind of change blowing across the zone by voting massively for the candidate of APC, Prince Abubakar Audu, during the forthcoming election in order to liberate the state from the clutches of myopic and inexperienced politicians.
