National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, said yesterday that it would continue to ensure that best practices were used in oil spill clean-ups, rehabilitation, protection and remediation of the environment.

Sir Peter Idabor, NOSDRA’s Managing Director, stated this while speaking at the Mandatory Workshop for NOSDRA accredited consultants in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The theme of the workshop is: ‘’Ensuring Best Practices in Environmental Consultancy Services in Oil Spill Management in Nigeria.”

Idabor, who was represented by Mrs Uche Okwechime, Director of Finance/Admin, NOSDRA, said that the thrust of the workshop was to assist technocrats in the effective management of oil spill response.

He said that oil spill incidences and responses were as old as oil production in Nigeria.
