Cylinder explosion: Lagos assures victims of adequate medical attention

LAGOS — The Lagos State Government has assured  victims of the Owode-Onirin scrap market, along Mile-12, Ikorodu Road, cylinder explosion receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja of adequate medical attention and would not abandon them.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Relations, Dr. Ibironke Sodeinde gave the assurance at the weekend during her visit to the survivors in LASUTH.

The victims who were 11 in number, including fire fighters as at the time of admission were rushed from the scene of the fire outbreak at Owode-Onirin area of Ikorodu as a result of direct exposure to suspected ammonia gas discharged from ruptured abandoned cylinder causing the fire fighters and the traders who became unconscious to be rushed to hospital.
