Bayelsa poll: Ekeremor communities drum up support for Dickson

Yenagoa—The Restoration Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the December 5 governorship poll, Seriake Dickson, yesterday, received a boost as communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state came out en- masse to welcome the campaign train and support the second term bid of the incumbent governor.

The governor was in the council in continuation of his community to community meet the people tour ahead of the election.

Before the Ekeremor rally, the communities visited include Ayamasa, Obirigbene, Isampou, Egbemo-Angalabiri, Tamogbene, Amabulou and Foutorugbene. Others were Peretorugbene, Ndoro, Aghoro, Aleibiri and Ekeremo, headquarters of the council, which is also the hometown of the Minister of State for Agriculture and a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.

The campaign team comprised of the governor’s wife, Dr. Rachael Dickson, a daughter of the area and same for the Director-General of the campaign, Fred Agbedi, who is also the current serving member of the House of Representatives for Sagbama/Ekeremor federal constituency.

The people and their leaders said their decision to come out en-masse and back the governor’s second term bid was based on his impressive performance in office.

Describing the on-going Sagbama-Ekeremor Road project as a lasting legacy of the current administration, the chiefs and the entire people of the area said they had no option than to support Dickson’s re-election.
