NGF congratulates Aregbesola on emergence of Ogunwusi as Ooni of Ife

ABUJA- THE thirty- Six state governors under the aegis of Nigeria Governors` Forum (NGF) Tuesday congratulated Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state on the emergence of its 51st Ooni of Ife, Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi of Giesi Ruling House of Ile-Ife.

In a statement by NGF Chairman and Governor Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari of Zamfara state, urged the incoming monarch to use his position to further solidify the role of the Yoruba people in ensuring peace and development in the country as he mounts the exhalted throne.

Yari who charged the new Ooni to use his possition to enhance the bond of unity that exists among the Yorubas and other traditional ruluer in the western region and the country generally, commended the Osun state Government for playing the role of a good umpire during the succession process and appealed to the ruling houses in Ife and citizens of the Kingdom to unite behind the new Ooni and give him the needed support as they did to the deceased Ooni.

Yari said traditional institutions were vital to the development of the society and could not be waved aside by any government.
