UGHELLI—It was wailing and gnashing of teeth on Monday at Ekuigbo, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State as one of the victims of the Sunday night clash between two suspected cult groups was interred.
Friends and relatives of the deceased, identified as Ovigue, popularly known as Montana, defied the morning downpour as they gave the victim a final farewell at his paternal residence along Onosode Drive, Ekuigbo.
Also present at the scene of his brief funeral rites was his 8-year-old son and his wife.
It would be recalled that Ovigue died on Sunday evening by Tozak Hotel located along Ughelli-Warri road at the Ekuigbo metropolis of Ughelli.
His remains were left at the scene of the incident till the early hours of Monday before he was taken away for burial in a makeshift coffin.
How he died
Meanwhile, contrary to earlier claims that he was killed by bullets from a rival gang, a security source told Vanguard that he was shot on the back of his head by a police guard stationed at the hote.
