Kumuyi to hold crusade in Alimosho

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has concluded plans to stage the Lagos-City wide crusades in conjunction with Christian Association of Nigeria and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos Branch at the Christ Gospel Mission Camp Ground, Command road, Ipaja, Lagos .

The crusade tagged Supernatural encounter with the God of wonders will bring together over 60, 000 Christian faithful from Alimosho and environs which will feature prayers, song rendition, testimonies, bible teaching and prophetic ministration.

Addressing reporters, the GS, who was represented by the Deeper Life Bible Church Moderator, Lagos, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi said, “We have invited you to this gathering to inform you about an unprecedented State-wide crusade in Lagos which is being organised courtesy of Deeper Life Bible Church, in close and active collaboration with our distinguished Brethren from CAN and the PFN.”

The holiness preacher reiterated that the crusade, which will hold in every nook and cranny of Lagos, including Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry, will be unprecedented.

According to him, beginning from September 8, 2015, and the next two months, “the crusade will hold at Ikeja, Ketu, Gbagada, Festac, Isolo, Agege, Alimosho, Oshodi, Orile, Ajegunle, Surulere, Apapa, Lagos Island and Shomolu.”

Kumuyi, who disclosed that the city-wide crusades were in fulfillment of the mandate of Jesus Christ, said but for the mercy of God the State could have gone under going by the fearsome swarm of iniquities that pervade the society which he said must be arrested through the gospel.

While saluting the positive actions taken by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, Kumuyi maintained that unless the required spiritual renaissance and moral re-armament are put in place, enduring change in Lagos or in any other place will remain a “pipe dream”.

Speaking on the stance of the organisation regarding probe of corruption of past government officials as indicated by President Muhammadu Buhari, the representative of Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos branch, Pastor Leke Akinola, who described the collaboration as a good development and long expected postulated that the probe was a welcome development for the progress of the nation.

However, he cautioned that government must live no stone unturned in its fight against corruption by ensuring that the probe is holistic. He said there should be no “sacred cow” in the fight against the monster.

Kumuyi expressed his readiness to partner with both the Federal and Lagos State Governments to bring about the real “change” everyone yearns for.

Acknowledging the efforts of successive governments at the centre and the state to bring about a true social order, the cleric observed that such efforts have not yielded the desired result.

The tele-evangelist preacher however, noted that outward change can only be real when it is complimented by a true inner transformation.
