Anglican bishops flay IMSG over unpaid salaries

OWERRI—Bishops of the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, have lashed out at Imo State Government, over the non-payment of workers salaries and pensions of retirees.

The issue of unpaid  salaries and pensions featured prominently during the 26th Regular Meeting of the Owerri Provincial Council of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, held at the Cathedral of All Saints, Egbu, Owerri North local council area of the state.

Speaking on behalf of his brother bishops, the Archbishop of the Province, Most Rev. Calendar Maduoma, told the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, who represented Governor Rochas Okorocha at the event, that workers and pensioners have been experiencing hardship.
