Delta Police worry over increase in cult groups

WARRI—The Police in Delta State have expressed concern over  increased activities of cultists in the state,  following the arrest of eight suspected members of a notorious cult group, Aye confraternity  in Warri.

Parrading the suspects before newsmen, the O.C Quick Response Squad, Warri, Mr  Alkali Lamido, said that acting on the directive of the state Police Commissioner,  Mr  Alkali Usman, the QRS officers on visibility  patrol apprehended the eight cultists at different locations in Warri after the annual convention of Aye confraternity.

He gave the names of those arrested as Okalor Godwin,  a 300 level Political Science Student, Benson Idahosa University, Edo State, Emmanuel of Victory Academy Ondo State,  Okwalogu Michael,  a graduate of Theatre Arts Imo State University.

Lucky Umukoro, from Ewen – Isoko south, Delta State,  Okoronkwo Friday,  Faith Interntional School, Ughelli, Delta State,  Onoriode Tukuru of  Maryland Group of School from Ogbe-Ijaw, and two others whose identity could not be ascertained at press time.
