We’ll track down cop killers, says Oyo police boss

Ibadan—The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina, on Wednesday vowed to track down everyone involved in last month’s killing of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Adekile area of Ibadan.

Chief Superintendent of Police, Ikeokwu Nworgu, was attacked by some hoodlums while on official duty at Adekile area of Ibadan.

The hoodlums had inflicted fatal machete cuts on him and also shot him.

Katsina, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, said the command had arrested another suspect who was close to the principal suspect said to be at large.

“We are getting close to arresting the second in command of those that killed the DPO, and until I nab the last man involved in killing him, I will not rest,” he said.

He said the arrested suspect, who had fled the area with others, was nabbed last week when information filtered in that he had returned to the area.

“ The suspect was arrested around 2 a.m. in his house at Adekile,” he said.
