Abuja -As children in Nigeria join others in the world to make this year’s International Children’s Day tommorow, the wife of the incoming government, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has guaranteed Nigerians and the Nigerian children that the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari’s government will put more emphasis on the development of the Nigerian Child and that education will be the trust of her husband’s government.
She said this in a statement released to mark this year’s International Children’s Day on May 27.
According to her, “Education is going to be the main focus of the incoming APC government.”
She further said, “our children are our future and education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country.”
Mrs Buhari also calls for the speedy implementation of the Child Rights Act which has been passed by the National Assembly, but yet to be adopted by several states.
The wife of the President-elect also said that, despite the need to eradicate the menace of insecurity in the country and restoring normalcy in the north east there is need to encourage our children to return to school and making schools safer.
She further extended her best wishes to children all over the country with specially reference to the less privileged.
