All Progressive Congress, APC, chieftain in Delta State, Jesutega Onokpasa, has alleged that members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the state have inadvertently admitted that their party was involved in election fraud and committed what he described as heinous electoral crimes in the recently conducted elections.
Addressing newsmen, yesterday in Warri, Onokpasa alluded to an advertorial by PDP members from Sapele constituency at page 50 of Vanguard of Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in which he claimed the authors of the publication had unwittingly admitted that “the election funds for security and INEC in Sapele Local Government Area was received and collected by Monday Igbuya, and his cohorts.” Insisting that their assertion could only be interpreted as an admission that Igbuya, who is presently Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, was charged with compromising security agents and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Onokpasa claimed that they had confirmed what the APC had been saying all along that the elections were massively rigged by the PDP.
He said: “While fighting amongst themselves over sharing the spoils of their criminally obtained victory, PDP members have resorted to allegations and counter-allegations thereby unwittingly revealing the truth of the terrible crimes they committed against the electorate and the APC. Truly, the PDP can now be safely written off as a sinking Titanic on its way to political oblivion and utter irrelevance. Imagine the senselessness of members admitting their party committed heinous crimes in a publication they paid for themselves! It is almost like a home video.”
While describing PDP members as habitual election riggers, Onokpasa demanded that “the police must immediately pick up Igbuya for bribing sINEC officials as admitted by his own party men.”
