PPA raises alert on plot to deny Uzor Kalu senatorial victory

Asks INEC to announce Abia North result now

By Chris Ochayi

ABUJA — The Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, has raised alarm over alleged plots to deny its founder and national leader, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, his electoral victory as senator-elect for the Abia North senatorial district in the just concluded presidential and National Assembly election in Abia State.

National chairman of PPA, Comrade Peter Ameh, who raised the alarm while speaking with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, said the party was concerned and interested in its electoral victory.

He, therefore, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to order the Returning Officer of Abia North senatorial district to announce the result of the senatorial election of Abia North senatorial district without further delay.

Comrade Ameh, who accused Governor Theordore Orji of Abia State of masterminding the plot, warned:  “We will do all that is legal therefore to ensure that we are not fraudulently denied of our just victory.

“We of the PPA are not concerned with the personal rivalry and show of might between Theodore Orji and former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, but the power tussle should not be used to rob us of our hard earned victory.
