Lagos —All Progressives Congress, APC Lagos State, yesterday said it is investigating the voter apathy recorded during the Presidential election held on March 28, considering the huge Permanent Voter card, PVC distributed in the state.
Less than two million (1,324,787) voters participated in the elections, as against the over 3.8 million Permanent Voters Cards, PVC issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC prior to the elections.
Director of the Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. James Faleke yesterday disclosed this while addressing members of the party at the Buhari-Osinbajo victory rally held at the Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos State.
Faleke said: “We are analyzing the low turnout experienced in the last presidential election. And we have realized some reasons. Some of the reasons were the hot weather experienced on the Election Day and the issues of faulty card readers.
“Some of these might have caused the voter apathy in the state. But we will ensure that more people troop out to cast their vote in the forthcoming elections.”
