ASABA- GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has admonished Nigerians to maintain the relative peace and decorum that pervaded the March 28 Presidential elections during the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
The governor, who made the call in his goodwill message on this year’s Easter celebrations by Christians worldwide, also enjoined Nigerians, especially Deltans to forgive one another and show love to all like Jesus Christ, the Savior did.
His words, “As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I urge all Nigerians, especially Deltans to forgive one another and show love to all like Christ did.”
“Permit me to use this medium to express my sincere gratitude to all Deltans who trooped out en masse to express their love for the PDP during the presidential and national Assembly elections. I still call on Deltans to remain peaceful during the governorship and State House of Assembly elections,” he said.
He said that as the administration winds down, the government would put finishing touches to most of its projects and by God’s grace, commission them soon. He commended Deltans and residents of state for their support and cooperation with my administration.
Uduaghan noted that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gave Christians victory over death and liberated them from its grip, stressing that Easter was a season for the renewal of personal covenant with God and the relationship with the family, friends and neighbours.
“I pray that the peace, love, victory and joy, which the death and resurrection of Jesus brought to humanity, shall be the portion of Nigerians, particularly the good people of Delta State”, he asserted.
