BENIN CITY— THE Benin leaders of thought led by the Enogie of Obazuwa, Prince Edun Akenzua and former Minister of State for Works, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi have urged the people of the state to embrace the change at the Federal level and support All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Assembly candidates and the rescheduled senatorial election in Orhiomwon Local Government Area.

They added that the “Binis must grab this opportunity by voting for Samson Osagie as the senator representing Edo South, so we can compete for the position of the Senate President or Deputy Senate President.

Prince Akenzua, who is the younger brother to the Oba of Benin, said: “No Benin man or woman was ever appointed into President Jonathan’s cabinet in spite of the fact that Edo people voted massively for him in 2011.”

He urged the people of Benin “not to put themselves in opposition to the Federal Government. This time to think more about the interest of the state than that of the party.”

Also, Ogiemwonyi raised alarm over an attempt by the PDP to offer money to eligible voters with a view to hoodwink the Binis into an “unrewarding opposition with the ultimate aim of destabilising the state.”

Ogiemwonyi urged Binis to vote massively for all APC candidates in Saturday’s  election.
