ASABA—THE police in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, have arraigned a 32 years old lawyer, Mr Rume Ono-Sorhue, in court on a three- count charge of wilful and malicious damage of a Toyota Highlander SUV belonging to one Mr Esiri Jaho, also a lawyer.
The accused who was arraigned before an Ovwian Magistrate Court, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was admitted to bail by the trial Magistrate, Mrs I. Eshemitan.
The charge preferred against the accused read: “That you Ono-Sorhue ‘m’ and others now at large on February 20, 2015, at No. 12 Asagba Street, off Izomo Road, Ovwian town, in Ovwian magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit misdemeanor to wit: malicious damage, and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 517 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C21, volume 1, laws of Delta State.
“That you Ono-Sorhue and others now at large on the same date, place in the afore-mentioned magisterial district, did willfully and maliciously damage one Toyota Highlander SUV front door with registration number JRT 102 GE, value yet unknown property of one Jaho Esiri ‘m’ and thereby committing an offence punishable under section 451 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C21 volume 1, laws of the Delta Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.”
