Ex-militant leader blames N-Delta’s woes on lawmakers

Ex-Militant leader, Francis Muturu, has said that the lawmakers representing various constituencies in the Niger Delta at the National Assembly should be blamed for the underdevelopment of the region and not President Goodluck Jonathan.

Muturu, in a statement at Bomadi, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, yesterday, said: “Almost all the lawmakers in the Niger Delta region have abandoned their constitutional duties and resorted to hustling for Federal Government and Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, project contracts which I think is against the development of the region.

“When the colleagues of our lawmakers are busy proposing bills that will affect the life of their constituents positively, ours are jostling for contracts.”
