How cult members killed Enugu magistrate — Police

The Enugu State Police Command has unravelled the killers of Mr. OJ Nwani of Enugu-East Magistrate Court who was murdered on September 1, 2014.

According to police spokesperson,Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, the suspect, one Abuchi Afam,21,who hails from Eda in Afikpo-South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, confessed to the alleged murder of Nwani during interrogation.

He said,”The suspect participated in the murder of Magistrate OJ Nwani, an Enugu-based magistrate living at Trans-Ekulu axis of Enugu State.

“Abuchi told us that their intention was not to kill him but to snatch his car and use it for operations. On that fateful day,himself and other gang members, numbering about three, allegedly contracted a tricyclist from Gariki,Awkunanaw where they took off to Trans-Ekulu to confront their rival cult members of the Ayez or Black Axe confraternity.

“He revealed that they were members of the Vikings Confraternity on a revenge mission but happened to stumble on the deceased magistrate whom they had seen trying to drive out from his gate in Trans-Ekulu and decided to snatch the car and discharge the tricyclist.”
