APC supporters protest alleged manipulation in Idemili North, South

By Vincent Ujumadu

Awka—ABOUT 500 supporters of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Idemili North and South federal constituency of Anambra State, yesterday, besieged the Federal High Court in Awka to protest alleged manipulation of the ticket for the constituency by the leadership of the party.

Armed with placards with inscriptions such as “There were no primaries in APC in Idemili,” “We want justice in Anambra APC,” “Give us our rightful candidate,” “Anambra APC is not a one man show,” and “APC hear our voice,” the protesters moved round the court premises and threatened to continue their action until justice was done.

The protesters had accompanied Mr. Stanley Okeke, a House of Repre-sentatives aspirant, to the court, following a suit he instituted against APC for allegedly denying him the party ticket by not conducting primaries.

The matter was later adjourned to March 23 for hearing.
