ABUJA—Special Adviser to Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State on Public Communication, Mr. Ben Onyechere, has said that Imo indigenes residing in Abia State will vote for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the PDP in the coming general elections.
According to him, in the choice of candidates, Imo people cannot make the mistake of trusting or mortgaging their future in the hands of Igbo haters, nor can they afford to give their votes to parties that are owned by individuals.
His words: “At this point in Nigerian political history, we know where to pitch our political tents, which is the reason we must subscribe to a truly national party which has no religious or ethnic connotation.
”In Nigerian politics, Governor Theodore Orji has crafted a name for Igbos because of his acceptability and the only way to build on the foundation he has laid is to give Dr lkpeazu an unflinching support in the governorship election.
“As the special adviser to the governor on public affairs for many years now, l remain the highest ranking lmo indigene in Abia and the only way to pay Governor Orji back for recalling Imo indigenes, paying salaries of Imo PDP staff as well as re-instating ITC in Abia is to vote for PDP candidates, because I am here to attest to these facts and stand as guarantee for the requirements of Imo indigenes in Abia.
“I can assure that we are better off with Dr Ikpeazu because he is a God fearing man, who will run a people-oriented government.”
