By Austin Ogwuda & Francis igata

ENUGU State Police Command, yesterday, said that it had commenced a full scale investigation into alleged explosion that rocked the Ohanaeze secretariat in Enugu, last Saturday, just as Biafran warlord and former Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,  Col Joseph Ahuzia (ret) said Ohanaeze had lost its steam.

Vanguard investigation showed that the alleged plan to destroy the secretariat might not be unconnected with the recent leadership struggle rocking the group, where accusations and counter accusations of fraud were being leveled against themselves.

State Police Command spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu said in a statement that “the Police have commenced an investigations into the incident of explosion at the meeting hall of Ohanaeze Ndigbo located at G.R.A, Enugu last Saturday, at about 9p.m.

“It was gathered that fire from the alleged explosion engulfed some parts of the hall, but was quickly put off to avoid extensive damage.”

It was further gathered that a yet to be identified young man, who had earlier jumped and escaped having been allegedly sighted by the workers, was seriously suspected over the alleged plan to set the hall, where Ohanaeze meetings were regularly conducted, ablaze.
