THE Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, LCDA, chapter of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said Igbo will only vote for a political party or candidate that will protect their interest.
Newly crowned Eze Omeudo 1 Ndigbo of Ikosi Isheri, Eze Stephen Ejiogu Elugwu, gave the condition when he led leaders of Ohanaze Ndigbo in the council to Vanguard Newspapers’ corporate head offices in Lagos.
Eze Elugwe contended that it was only when elections were around the corner that politicians would remember and reckon with the Igbo.
He warned that any party that would not include the Igbo in the governance of the local government, particularly at the Mile 12 Market would not get Igbo’s votes in the area.
Elugwe called on Igbo living in the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA to join current leadership of Ndigbo for a more prosperous Igbo community.
Similarly, Chief Sunday Ossai, the Traditional Prime Minister, Ohanaeze Ndigbo of Ikosi –Isheri, commended the chairman of the LCDA for providing a conducive environment for the Igbo to strive in their businesses.
Also speaking, Chief Anthony Osuji, said: “We have been isolated for so many years, and we are ready to dance to the tune of any political party ready to take care of our welfare.”
