Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Mr Nyesom Wike, has said that the PDP Presidential Campaign Rally in Rivers State will hold at the Amasieamaka stadium on January 28 contrary to claims by the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
Wike said that the stadium belongs to Rivers people and President Jonathan will use it for his campaign rally.
The former Minister of State for Education spoke in Port Harcourt, yesterday, during a meeting with Goodluck to Goodluck Political pressure group.
He said: “The PDP Presidential Rally will hold at the Amasieamaka Stadium on January 28. The APC held its presidential campaign rally on January 6, and an earlier rally on October 25, 2014 at the same stadium.
“Our presidential rally will hold at that stadium because it belongs to the people. We are working with all stakeholders to ensure that the right thing is done to move the nation forward. We are committed to the peaceful use of the stadium for our presidential campaign.”
He urged members of the Goodluck to Goodluck Political Group to continue with their massive mobilization for the re-election of President Jonathan.
In his remarks, Legal Adviser of Goodluck to Goodluck Political Group, said: “We are working for the emergence of President Jonathan and Wike.”
Also, yesterday, Wike inaugurated the committee that will organise the Presidential Campaign Rally in Rivers State.
He charged the committees to work selflessly to set the tone for Jonathan’s re-election.
Responding on behalf of committee members, Rivers State PDP Chairman, Mr. Felix Obuah, assured that the members will deliver an outstanding presidential rally in the state.
