PVC: Aka Ikenga laments 50% collection rate in the South

By Charles Kumolu

PAN Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Aka Ikenga, has decried the low rate at which Permanent Voters Card, PVC, is being collected in the south, noting that it will not serve the interest of the zone in the 2015 general elections.

It lamented that the rate of PVC collection in the South was 50 percent against its 80 percent rate in the North.

A statement by the group’s President, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, called on the people to ensure that that “the zone participates actively in the polls.”

According to him: ‘’We in Aka Ikenga, have noted with dismay the lethargy in Nigeria over the Permanent Voter’s Card. We are shocked that our people have neglected to collect their PVC’s. We urge you to collect your PVC today. Your PVC is your only instrument for voting for any candidate of your choice. It makes no difference if your support is only verbal without any action. Your active support is only through your PVC.”
