Lagos—The Lagos State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has confirmed the rescheduling of its cancelled delegates congress to hold today, 24th November, 2014. The Congress is to take place at all the 245 Wards of the state at the “usual place of their meetings or as confirmed by the State secretariat.”
In a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr Taofik Gani, “The confirmation is to serve as notice to all card-carrying members of the party and to particularly debunk the rumours that the delegates congress has been postponed.”
The party, however, advised members to participate in the process just as it warned “detractors and opposition sponsored thugs to steer clear of the congress venues as any intruder or agent provocateur shall be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.”
Meanwhile, former Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana and immediate past Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is set to officially declare his aspiration for the Lagos State governorship election on Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Lagos.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media Strategy, Ohimai Amaize, “Senator Obanikoro is ready to unveil his plans of a ‘Greater Lagos’ for the people of Lagos State come November 27.”
